So…this is the last day of Sept 2011, couple of days ago I celebrated my 32nd Bday how old is that . But well, this is the moment I am about to enter my new adventurous, challenging, and full-of-excitement days… All I am talking about is new role in new work place.. Only within 2 weeks I got the position I’ve been craving for, a desk-field job, great office, a dream team, and very good cash .. thank be to GOD..It’s an oil n gas company based in Malaysia. The office itself is at Plaza Bapindo Mandiri Tower 21st Floor. A series of work requirements I took, interview, health test etc. Offering letter signed, a week after the interview, a week later the Boss invited me for a lunch meeting at Pacific Place. The meeting was also to inform me that I will be sent to West Sulawesi for a site-visit on my 1st day at work…how interesting is that. A bunch of questions linger in my head..but well, I am so excited..so this is the moment that I will again.., unleash my brain…wish me luck!

Interview with the Vampires

Howdy!! we finally graduated from Curtin mixed feelings came altogether, happy for there is one thing left behind (study), sad for leaving Perth, excited for having new job experiences,…but overall SUPER Happy and thanking GOD to put us this far.. The day is Friday (Sept 16), I am blogging, while waiting Ranya sleeps in the bed. It’s just 8pm but she seems exhausted, Unda is hanging out with her friends at Plaza Senayan. We decided to stay as Ranya will have her 1st class tomorrow back to Cikal.

Anyway, I wanna tell a story about how kind universe has been to me. Soon after I completed my master degree, many job offers are coming in. regardless who am I with at the moment, I believe that I have the ability to do what they want to offer. There are so many silly story about all these job thingy. all comes the other way round. I had a couple times a job interview right here, at this house. most of them were not like an interviews, more like a chit chat..with their whole big smile when they talked. Very far from the interview situation. They were also asking me what position do I want to have..errr a lil it awkward, mann..never in my life I heard that a company asking the applicant for a job they want..is this some kind of kissing ass or what?. Last week I had an interview with an oil n gas company named Inpex, the General Manager do the interview himself. I heard no news up until now, it’s still on process I suppose. last week on Wednesday I had another interview with a state-owned bank, the Vice President herself do the interview. End of the day, she said that my application had been forwarded to Citi, with a note from her saying that “this guy (me) would be perfect to work under Dita (read: Dita Amahorseya). I was like..errrr I know this Lady and she’s great. But I don’t know if I can work with her. I taken the challenge though and I wait…and I wait…no news. Actually, I’ve been hearing her name when I was in Maverick. Everyone said she is fair, and strict as well. I have no problem with that , at all. And…yesterday I got a miscall and an sms..it’s the lady another oil and gas company..her text said “Can you please tell me what’s the suitable time to call you..” I read the text 1 hour after it was sent. I immediately called her…, the point is she wanted me to come to Luna Negra to talk further about my employment in her company with the HR Manager. And today I met them at 2pm. The interview itself did last long, but the chit chat took us 3 hours. Prelemenary decision made, I am accepted (alhamdulillah ya Allah) with an amazing offer, in term of number and facilities. They promised me to come up with the paper works by next Monday. Let’s see how it said..and I’ll tell you what’s the situation. why Vampiers, take a conclusion yourselves

A farewell to fellas

This is a late posting, Just want to share that we had a chance to do a farewell to some fellas just before we left Perth on 24 July 2011. First of all Ranya’s GP dr Scott Powell.

Last visit to dr Powell

The day was Friday (22 July) and was raining. We would like to give powell a souvenir originally from Indonesia, a Batik. Yep that was a perfect one made by Danar Hadi. We’re not sure about the size though, because it wasn’t actually for him, but when we did the packaging we found that Batik. No the shirt in the image is not the Batik.

Second one is my best of friend George Xie, It was on Saturday (23 July) the day that he taken away our car..our lovely car. I promised George that I’ll take him for a carwash. He came very early from scheduled. It was 9.30 I guess. We went to Buzz car wash on Canning Hwy, not very far from Southern Clinic. I basically wanted to show him how to wash the car perfectly. And he did the rest…[see pics]

We finished washing the car at about 11.00, and went straight to Viethoa for a farewell lunchies.. went back home and take the car to George’s place. The next day, was the long awaited day. Been busy struggling with more packing, early morning went to George place to ask for George help keeping more of my stuff. later in the afternoon he went to my place to take us to the airport, see how big our luggage was. Without George, it’ll be very hard for me to take em all to the airport.

People are posting apology messages on facebook, twitter, and other social medias..fasting month is coming buddies… the day is Monday (1 August 2011). We did our 1st early breakfast at home all together, Bayam soup, fried paru, mussel satay, and chicken with soy sauce having a party in our tummy as Brobie of YoGabba Gabba said. Woke up at around 4, busy preparing baby monitor as we have to leave Ranya by herself, failed to set up FaceTime just leave it alone, then started to eat. breakfast finished at 4.30.

All I can say (again) I am happy to hit to J-town again Alhamdulillah dear GOD almighty you give us these happiness and success. Traffic never been worse, but quite happy. We are expecting some BukBer (breakfasting) with friends and families and sooo excited. So let’s see how much stories I can tell for this Ramadhan… Marhaban Yaaa Ramadhan…

Going Solo

Been three days now in Indo, it’s great to be back…
Our 1st Monday is a treat day. Nothing really serious went on. I am going to Bersih Sehat for a massage, Anin had her personal massager “Mpok Sane” at home, what a life. As soon as we finish with the massage, we went to OPP for a lunch.

The day is Wednesday 27 July, and here I am now in Solo, Surakarta, Central Java. Just the 2nd day of our arrival in Indonesia. We had another flight to Solo. But this time’s different. Bcos we have the whole family with us, Anin’s big family. We’ll have a series of traditional activities in welcoming fasting month, that’ll fall early August 2011. We are staying at Best Western hotel, the best hotel in town I guess. We had an extremely huge dinner last night at Raja Kepiting. Was great dinner, all cooked well and tasty. that was just after we had a visit to Anin’s grand mom from Bunda.

Today we’re planning for another visit to Anin’s another anchestors. I love this kind of visit, just so many to explore and the food… So I’ll see you in another Solo posting!

He sat at the 1st row of the class, his eyes blinking very fast each time the teacher talking..he opens his glasses once in a while..and busy making notes while others carefully listening to the teacher, we called Naomi. A half Korean Australian Citizenship holder talks very fast indeed with her strong Oz accent, “noey you won’t collect the assignment here in class, you need to goey to my office…”. a sound of a strong traditional chinese character guy cut Naomi’s explanation, all faces immediately looked at to the front row seat. Everyone was curious to know who and what will this guys say…, 10 sec paused..then “c..a..n yo..u..ple..as..e ..expla..in…that..a..g.ain?” the class cheer..laughing at the guy with strange hair cut style. Just before Naomi explain him again, she ask “What’s your naime?” | “George…” that guy said..

His Canton name is Yongchun Xie, his English name is George. I was maybe one of some snob guys who saw him as a boring dude, but I am now the closest guy and he is the definition of the word best friend for me. By now our friendship has gone 2 years. not too long but the two years period gave us huge meaning of friendship. the trust that we’ve built each other has just getting bigger. He is the one that I trust to hold my apartment key while I am away, despite lots Indonesian friend that I got. George is a figure that put honesty and discipline as his 1st priority of all. He always said, “
our (he and I) friendship are base on trust, not money”. George comes from a mid-level family, at least that’s what he said to me. he is the oldest among his parent’s child. I don’t know. but I always believe that he’ll somehow become a very successful guy.

He fell in love with one of our Philipino bridging friend name Hazeline (Haze). But I not sure Haze like George. and She’ll regret it, I’ll bet. Haze was George’s 1st unreachable love. To be always with Haze, George even goes to the same elderly house (place to taken care of elderly people) in Subiaco. But I think he had enough with Haze now. He recently said to me that Haze was a liar, and that was principal for George, full stop. I’ve once warned George about Haze, but he just don’t believe me, now he sees.

George now works very hard to get more money, he said that he needs to help his parent. he just bought my car in cash on 13 July 2011. He let me use the car until I left this city. He admitted that he won’t drive until he become a permanent permit holder (P), he is not Learner’s permit holder (L). So he should wait until Dec 2011. what a straight George. I sometimes wonder if his life is so bored :p. But it;s just him. He is now spoken English better than I 1st now him, more vocabs than me..damn George. he reads lotsa books, browse more infos from internet and all. He asked me if he can invest in my business, I said “NO!! wait until the next 10 years” now we will be separated miles miles away, but that won’t stop us from being in touch, Facebook, email, Skype and stuff like that will make us in touch. Pray for you George, you’ll get what you aim for, and be a successful guy, make Haze regret even more!! thanks for everything while I am here buddy…we’ll meet again in another occasion. I’ll miss hanging out with you!!

home coming (for good…)

time flies..it’s true indeed…24 months passed..Ranya grows older, all the stuff packed this awesome unit now gone..one-by-one…

it was officially announced on 6 July 2011, I was in Melbourne on holiday (see my next blog on holiday part) at that time. the result showed good stuff. Yay…I am home Indonesia, Jakarta, Miss you all alot friends n families..even though I enjoy it living here with all the fresh air and friendly traffic, but sorry, Jakarta is my most favorit city of all..I have all there…

so up this point all our home coming preparation so good, most of the heavy goods are sold, ticket confirmed, half of the house’s equipments have been shipped, still have some left though. Just as we went home from our holiday, our shipping agency called saying, stuff will be picked up tomorrow. Means left us only 1 day to finish up all the packing huff..*deep sigh*, wrapped all up that one day, cost us a terrible backache, just not agewise.

box by box wrapped and taped.. and know what..after it was picked up by the shipping guy..damn..just had some more stuff in our cupboard..errrr the next week I call another guy that can handle this shipping. Was planning to just bring it along with us on plane. But it’s just too much..it’ll cost us like a lot. shipping it is, we got another 16 items, 10 boxes and 6 unboxed items. end of story, shipping done..it left us with some suitcases and 2 boxes (still… ). Now the cleaning up part..just another part before our homecoming that suck out bloodout. Cleaning up start on Wednesday (20 July) start by throwing out stuff that are need to go, but actually still can be used or even eaten. Just can’t throw all like that. One guy came up in mind…”give them to George”. Give him a call, ask him if he want them, and… Yes he wants them. and today, he came to pick up the stuff. Stuff like spices, instant spices “Munik”, think that I still have 20 of them. Onty Ria brought them earlier this year, we don’t really cook them . just didn’t have time for that. now after all the stuff are gone, I start to clean up the stove, sink, and microwave. tomorrow, I still need to clean up the fridge, Justin will come at 5pm, should have enough time to make all shiny and make Justin happy. can’t wait to meet my family in Jakarta…not sooooo long wait for us guys!!!

Back again

hey…very much to talk, little time that i got..
So yea..we got back to Perth, again!. love and hate collide “Deflepard (need to check again)”. now it’s only the three of us, really..should do everything by ourselves. good thing: wifey is pushed to learn to be independent, bad thing: would she learn at all? :p I hope *finger crossed* she did learn some households t hough. Look at her now, washing the dishes..most of you who know her would never believe if she really is washing the dishes, RARE . And that’s make me proud you go wifey…, now there’re lotsa things we need to do here on our initial present after absent for almost 3 months. 1st get d apartment fixed and clean, 2nd extend wifey’s visa, and 3rd find a childcare for Ranya, 3rd number 1 checked, 2 is on progress, 3 almost done. so far so very good thank got for the easiness. Leaving your house empty for 3 months in Perth was not as bad as you leaving it in Jakarta. When we 1st arrived here again, I found out almost everything in place, except for those papers and our room clock. There were blown out by wind. Dust?, I almost could not find them so yea, little effort need to reclean the apartment, *HAPPY*.., now extending your Visa, in Perth (Australia at large) public are not really spoiled and feed with contact numbers, all you get is a direct access to lodge paperworks, I am talking about lodging your visa. For me, I should several times keyed in perfect keywords bfore I found out Perth immigration office’s number. There you go 131881 I make it easier for you!!. Now, reaching the customer care person is the 2nd hardest, I guess there’re lotsa people contacting the office each day with only few person working on it..you might probably hear a terrible waiting call song, where I was expecting they can play me lifehouse or anything more interesting. It would possibly runs for sometime and when your call got picked up, it would take 1/5 quicker than you should wait . Now, getting childcare is easy, having the one with longer hours is the tough one. When I googled to find out a childcare that fits our timing, the result almost none. All the childcare I contacted suggested me to hire a nanny instead, bcos they think my timing was not meant to a childcare. Then a friend referred me to a childcare his son went to, Elite Childcare. When i called Voilla!!!, they said yes we can (Obama accent). How glad I was to hear that..the school is only a couple of days to go and we were still have no place to send Ranya. Finally we got contacted by a childcare agent named Mia, we made an appointment on Monday (26 Feb) to see if we are ok with the place and everything. From the voice I could directly tell that she’s not an Australian. And I was right, when we meet, the 1st thing I asked was where are you come from, she said “Indonesia”…*silent for a moment* I was in a dilemma whether to be happy of sad, this is bcos we were expecting that Ranya would get use to hear English language that comes from an Australian. then well Ok none of problem, Mia said in her childcare she only use english, plus she got an assistant named July, she’s an Australian and she also incharge to takencare of the kids. so I am happy now . well, it’s Sunday now, Ranya just had her nap and soon gonna wake up, so I better hurry do what I wanna do and cook yeap!! see ya!!

Happy Bday to mee..happy bday to mee….alhamdulillah ya Allah yang telah memberikan umur satu tahun lagi…, syukur ini ga akan pernah habis walaupun sampai mati nanti…

Sabtu minggu lalu merupakan pengalaman baru..diingatkan sudah sama Sang Khalik..bahwa kita memang bener sumpah swerrrr bisa mati kapan pun..pagi itu Sabtu 25 Sept, pagi sekali gw udah keluar rumah untuk bersepeda dan mampir ke Coles beli beberapa keperluan masak hari itu..setelah keliling naik sepeda sekitar satu jam..roda sepeda diarahkan ke Coles Angelo St, tapi di tanjakan menuju ke Coles, tepatnya di depan Halte dekat Strickland St, Jantung rasa berdebar kencang dan cepat…dada terasa dingin…mata mulai kunang2..coba turun dari sepeda, berdiri sejenak menjemur badan yang dingin di tiup angin pagi Kota Perth yang masih memasuki Spring menuju Summer..matahari terik bgt hari itu tapi angin dinginnya kaya freezer lemari es 4 pintu…berdiri sejenak ternyata tidak membuat debar jantung menjadi tenang…liat di sebrang ad halte..duduk lah..dan passout..oww noooo..*plis not now..not here* belum sempet menutup mata penuh yang toh melek juga ga bisa liat apa2 semua putih…mencoba keras meraih iPhone dalam tas dan dial contact list betuliskan “Istri-Ku” yap dialah istriku Koos yang menanti di rumah bersama anak tercinta Ranya..sempat berfikir gmn kalo telp ga diangkat..tapi alhamdulillah then again berkat izin Allah telp diangkat hanya jeda 1 Ring…then jemputlah sang Istri ke Angelo St..sebenernya ad hal yang memalukan selama pingsan di halte tersebut..I pooped my pants yap that’s sooo embarrassing..but then I really really cannot control what happened that time…well disini lah gw merasa I could just died if Allah wants me to at that time..I never felt that way before..but it’s just a great experience to me..nah sampai saat ini sakit itu ga pernah ad lagi..well mudah2an ga akan pernah..today I turn 31..Istri memberikan kejutan yang sangat simple namun mengharukan..she set up a Bday bash..right at 00.00 on 28 Sept 2010..she gave me a slice of orange cake..and a card with our photos in it, Her, Ranya and Me a cute yet hilarious one..thanks dear wife and daughter..you are all that I want and need..love you both…and now we’re preparing to celebrate my Bday together with Te Ria at Perth Royal Show..yay…semoga lancar dan menyenangkan..amin..well you might want to wait for the pics..I’ll uploaded here and on facebook for sure..
